It is a great day to celebrate achievements and send thanks to so many of you who have supported my passion project "The Good Note: Book Of Quotes".
When I began this journey of putting together a collection of my works from speeches, talks, discussions, journaling, moments of reflection and inspirational experiences I never thought it would lead to me becoming an author.
2019 I was challenged by someone to finish my book and get it out there for others to read. I started my second blog "The Good Note" in 2018 as a way to connect others to my words. Putting the quotes out every Wednesday for the public to see, read and respond. The response has been great. From there I continued writing and putting a framework around what a book of quotes should look like. I contacted some friends who are entrepreneurs, artist, social justice activist, educators, ministers, community leaders and thoughtful humans to lend their craft to the project.
Transitions took place and the book was put on the back burner of my mind. I received an email from my now agent who wanted to know more about me and the book I was working on. We connected and this is after a year and a half of discussing my book with other independent publishing companies and parties who were great agents but we just didn't stick after the conversation was over.
I partnered with www.publishizer.com and they pitched a simple framework. Use our platform to let people know about your book. Depending on the amount of pre-orders gained decides how and what publishing deals we can help you obtain.
Which leads me to today. I must get 200 copies to establish a presence with a few interested non-traditional publishers and negotiate a strategic deal. However, if I reach my goal of 500 pre-orders I gain an opportunity with both non-traditional and traditional publishers to negotiate a deal that is a game changer.
I know you're like, "So, when am I getting my book"? Pre-orders give me power in the negotiation with the publisher. Once I hit either 200 or 500 I begin the negotiations after June 30th, 2020. From there it is up to the publisher when the actual book (preorders 1st) will be released and sent to you along with your bonuses.
